DAB radio - aerial cable wanted
Hello,
I have just purchased a 2006 s8 and I am installing an Audi DAB radio into the boot area. The tuner and cable loom are installed and the MMI screen now shows DAB radio, but I could not find another Fakra connector for the DAB aerial. Does A8parts have one for sale and do I need an updated aerial unit under the parcel shelf with DAB outputs as well as (digital) TV and FM radio. Any help and/or pictures of how to access the aerial unit under parcel shelf gratefully received. Thanks Richardracer

Cable problem solved
Hi,
I bought a cable from Audi dealer for £17, not bad. Now time to delve onto boot side and top interior panels to find where aerial amplifier is under rear screen and how to run new cable. Dab radio works with external antenna, but I felt really stupid when I realised magnetic mounts don't work on aluminium panels!!  Richardracer

have you tried phantom aerials?
they are based in Edinburgh and very helpful at finding a bespoke solution to let you continue to use your built in Audi aerials and diversity tuners etc link for them is HERE

dab aerial fitment
Hi Ian,
I ended up with an external aerial which is stuck to the roof (mag mount doesn't work on aluminium) using a number plate sticky. Cable hidden in gap between rear screen and body, then into boot area and down to dab radio. Works just fine. Look at my signature pictures or go on gem detailing facebook/twitter pages which should show it up too. I found the dab radio dead simple. Installed withg cable ties and cables which are just plug and play. Switched car on, selected source on MMI and there it was! Go for it, quality is a massive improvement over fm and very similar to cds through my B&O. good luck and shout out if you need anything. I still have the dab internally mounted circuit board/aerial and audi cable sitting on my desk! Waste of £100. Couldn't work out how to remove parcel shelf with b&o speakers and couldn't see anything from inside boot area with liner removed. Thats how I found teh bag hangers which are spring loaded closed!!
