Default Battery Energy Management Module Shut off stages

Hey guys I came across the following information while using ODIS in regards to the different shut off stages of the battery.

If you find error messages such as the following:

Quiescent Current Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3, Stage 5 & 6 ,here's the description below for the different stages.

Quiescent Current Stage 1

In shut-off stage 1 the following functions are restricted or inactive:

Restricted functions:
- Window lifters
- Interior lighting
- Boot lighting
- Reading lights
- Roller blind
- Sun roof control
- Seat adjusters (manual)
- Boot power latch

Inactive functions:
- Ambient lighting
- Coming Home
- Main beam
- Footwell lighting
- Interior mirror
- Air conditioner
- Leaving Home
- Proximity sensors (for
- Fog lights
- Headlight washer system
- Mirror fold function
- Mirror heating
- Daylight driving lights
- Washer fluid heating
- Exterior door handle illumination
- Door power latches

Quiescent Current Stage 2

In shut-off stage 2 the following functions are restricted or inactive:

Restricted functions:
- Window lifters
- Radio clock
- Reading lights
- Sun roof control
- Seat adjusters (manual)
- Boot power latch

Inactive functions:
- All infotainment components except telematics
- Ambient lighting
- Coming Home
- Main beam
- Footwell lighting
- Interior lighting
- Interior mirror
- Air conditioner
- Boot lighting
- Leaving Home
- MMI open/close manual
- Proximity sensors (for
- Fog lights
- Tyre pressure monitor receiver
- Roller blind
- Headlight washer system
- Mirror fold function
- Mirror heating
- Daylight driving lights
- Washer fluid heating
- Exterior door handle illumination
- Door power latches

Quiescent Current Stage 3

In shut-off stage 3 the following functions are restricted or inactive:

Restricted functions:
- Radio clock
- Reading lights
- Sun roof control
- Seat adjusters (manual)

Inactive functions:
- All infotainment components except telematics
- Ambient lighting
- Coming Home
- Window lifters
- Main beam
- Fingerprint functions
- Radio remote control
- Footwell lighting
- Interior lighting
- Interior mirror
- Air conditioner
- Boot lighting
- Leaving Home
- MMI open/close manual
- Proximity sensors (for
- Fog lights
- Tyre pressure monitor receiver
- Roller blind
- Headlight washer system
- Mirror fold function
- Mirror heating
- Daylight driving lights
- Washer fluid heating
- Exterior door handle illumination
- Power latching

Quiescent Current Stage 5

Shut-off stage for auxiliary heater (shut-off stage 5):
If this shut-off stage is activated the auxiliary heater is subject to the following restriction:
Fans and glow plugs remain in operation for max. 1 hour.
As shut-off stage 5 is only set when shut-off stages 1 and 2 have been passed, all
consumer restrictions entailed by stages 1 and 2 are also active.

Quiescent Current Stage 6

Shut-off stage 6:
Shut-off stage 6 ensures that the control units only remain "awake" briefly below a specific
battery charge level. This function is only activated in response to so-called wake-up events
(such as a door handle being turned) for the CAN/Most bus.

Furthermore, VCDS can extract history from the BEM module and additionally VCDSToolbox can be used to read the data file. You get more information with the 'C' revision module using software 550 on the D3 than the earlier modules.
