Default Germany trip 2011 - Discussion Thread

I'm starting this thread to gauge peoples thoughts on what they may wish to do for Germany this year in the hope that it may get some movement going.

For those that are not aware, The A8 Freunde split last year after a difference of opinion. Those that were asked to leave or left of there own accord have set up a club called A8-Germany.DE. I am a member of both forums and have been talking to members on both.

They are both setting up a meeting this year; A8 Freunde 12 -14 August at the same place as last year.

A8-Germany.DE are meeting over the weekend 5-7 August in Kassel statt. That is the same weekend as AITP.

From my conversations I believe that the A8-Freunde will be the bigger event and there will be quite a few from both camps there.

So, which one to go to?

From my perspective I think I will go to the A8-Freunde meet as it means that AITP can also be attended.

Anyone with any thoughts or opinions post below.

I'll probably be doing AITP.. so if we can make it to that, then great.. I won't be able to make Germany.

I agree with you mike - AITP is a good meet and if I can get to Germany too then I will, so it would have to be the A8 Freunde meet. Also I have to say that by settting the date the weekend before the A8 Freunde meet they are both less likely to see good numbers as people wouldnt want to do 2 weekends in a row and also it looks like one has set up a week before the other as a spoiler which is a shame. . .

I'm up for AITP & Germany and to do that it has to be the A8 Freunde. So that's my preference.

It's worth saying that if we plonked for the other German meet, then we could not attend AITP. That would feel like leaving our members who turn out for AITP somewhat short of support.
We need a decent turn out to reach the critical mass which makes for a good meet
