Default Steamy Windows!!

As above - iv done 90% of the draining/cleaning part of the a/c system - blocked drain channels, drained water out the centre vents (to the rear blowers) (except the one under the fan intake - cant find the drain hole, will need to do it from underneath but when the fan is on in my car the windows steam up.

Whats the best seting to have the fan on constantly?
The pollen filters were changed last year and seem clean/dry enough - would i be better changing them anyway?
Anything else i can do to dry out the a/c system?

Thx

Dave

Have you taken the carpets out and dried them?
The amount of water they hold in the backing has to be seen to be believed, we're genuinely talking gallons here!

I leave mine at 22 and auto with econ mode off. Sometimes a wee bit of steamy windows on startup, but that clears in seconds.

I think Guy (daviesbike) came up with a novel way of extracting water from down inside the rear vents using a pipe and a vacuum to suck it up (on a thread somewhere on here) which looked like it got quite a bit out. You really need to keep drying out all that is soaked with moisture and i would suggest you then need a mix of both heat (to vapourise the moisture) and then ventilation (open windows) whilst you are driving around for as long as you can stand it to get the moisture out of the vehicle and replace it with less moist fresh air

I took out and dried (took days!) as much carpet as I could.
I also had 2 large bags of silica gel that I kept either side of the tunnel (and moved between front and rear) and dried out daily in the microwave.
It was probably a couple of weeks to get rid of it all!

If it were mine I would put a dehumidifier in the car assuming it can be left in a garage for a couple of days or at least overnight. Drain the water from the dehumidfier on a regular basis. This is by far the best way to take moisture/fluid out of wet carpets etc.
Hope this helps
David
