Default Audi A8 Sold, replaced with A4 Cabrio.

Today I said goodbye to my D3 A8, having owned it since 2013, I also said goodbye to the Volvo S60, which had 199K on the clock.

So what do I have now..., just one car

2004 Audi A4 Cabriolet 1.8T Sport manual with 89K miles on the clock. Silver with red leather interior. The car is in fantastic cosmetic condition, and drives really well. However, there is no radio reception and by the smell of things an oil leak.

Radio reception seems to be a common fault where the antenna cables pass from boot into cabin.

I've not even looked at where oil maybe coming from yet, I have driven it 30 miles so far.

I am aware of the oil pickup strainer issues, so that is on my hit list as preventative maintenance.

I had a chance to take a better look at the car last night.

Engine bay is pretty dirty and in serious need of a clean, missing it's undertray and the plenum cover is also missing. Not worried about the latter because at least you can see when the drains get blocked.

I found a receipt with a lot of parts listed, from within the last 800 miles for fixing both a coolant and oil leak which were advisories on the last MOT. I hope the oil smell is residual oil on the block or something else.

Rest of the car is spotless, will need a couple of tyres soon.

Love this - I did the same nearly 2 years ago when I sold my D3 S8, I have a 2006 A4 B7 3.0TDI Cabriolet.

You should come over and play with us on Facebook in the A4 Cabriolet Club UK: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1799558050155190/

One thing my B6 has which seems pretty rare, and that's the fully electric front seats in Red leather which is down on the original invoice as costing more than £1K

Not sure if they are Recaro, but they both have electric height adjust with independent front/rear of the seat base, Electric back rest, lumbar, electric headrest up/down. Same adjustments that my old D3 had, except the front pull out extension is manual.

I've resolved the radio problem, it was the cable between the boot lid and car body failing. Rejoined it and soldered, then sleeved and the external shielding repaired.

The oil problem is a non issue, it was resolved by the previous owner having spent a significant amount of money replacing failed pipework.

Only issue remaining now are the rear springs. Both have failed in the same place, and lost a piece off one end of the coil. It's sitting a little low on the back as a result as you can see in the pictures. I know it has sport suspension, also as an option.
