Default Lights and Lamps List

Whilst trying to sort out exactly what types of lamps (bulbs) were fitted to the car, I thought that it would behelpful to make a list for my own use so, for example, when a special offer on LED festoons /h7s or whatever came up I would know which type and how many I would need. So I went through the car (2002 FL S8) and listed all that I could find - with the exception of the tiny little things which illuminate the door handles!!

If anyone wants to add to this please do and I have left a few columns for PF cars.

Now, IIRC, someone did a similar exercise for LED replacements, so it would be good to combine these and to include variations (I know some sidelight bulbs are the push fit type, for example.

And then, perhaps, it would warrant being a 'sticky'?

Nice work David (but you really should get out more! )

Just so we get this right, why have we got a difference in the festoon lengths? I noted the "standard" lengths from suppliers (they are generally 42mm or 38mm) and physically checked the length (only against a ruler tho').

Also what is the "error correcting" bulb for the number plate? (Mine looked like standard festoons.)

Note to self - missed the footwell lights..

I'll try and do that too but am not sure what the 4-figure numbers are (i.e. 6411 etc). If that is a particular manufacturer's number, as opposed to a standard desgination like "D2R" or "H7", then it might be misleading listing it. Wot say Iyole?

I have just looked at some festoons on www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk and under their list of 42mm festoons they list a Canbus compatible lamp of 41mm! Other are just 42mm. I appeciate that the festoon bulb holder can accommodate a small difference in length.

I presume that the interior lamps do not have to be canbus compatible but the number plate lights do??

Now you are finding out why, despite having replaced my interiors with LED, I have never been keen/couldnt be ar**d making a list or recommendation on here

I am assuming the 36mm refers to the original bulb length.
The codes 6418 etc are the original bulb ref numbers.
http://www.tunerdomes.com/index.php?...wCat&catId=351

The "error correcting" bulb for number plate has built in resistor to prevent
bulb out error .....

http://www.tunerdomes.com/index.php?...d&productId=79

Hope this helps....
