Default Total Loss

Well have had my rear passenger door reversed into by a lady driving a 53 plate Volvo XC90. This has resulted in a total loss insurance payout. I have bought the car back for £1300. Our sponsors have a door in the correct colour so should be an easy fix.

Goodness me, a total loss on a dented door? The insurance companies really don't want to know about fixing cars these days. I'm glad you are able to sort it though.

I was gob smacked when they said total loss. Refused the first offer and spoke to the engineer for 50 mins until he increased the offer by £700! Sponsors door is £70 plus postage

just to note it's always worth asking on here too if anyone is close or passing by, as I went past fairly close yesterday. I did think about popping in just to see if there was anything left of T8

The door is most likely no longer available, so the insurance will have no choice except to declare a total loss. If it was the cost will most likely exceed the value of the whole car.

I checked with TPS and no door in UK but in stock in Germany. Cost was £1200. Total quote to repair was £4700. Settled on £5500. Door opens and closes but soft close not working. Electric blind not working either. No other damage. Cheap motoring for £1300
