caught, fault admitted and insurance ok?

Sucks to see this happening to our cars, its like they are magnets for bad drivers, I know they are big, but it seems all of our damage comes from when we aren't even in them!

Yeah, he was delivering to us anyway. I've called Audi Ensurance so will see what happens now. Bristol Audi will be fixing it.

Thanks, it's just that I could really do without the hassle now! I'm getting an A8 hire car as replacement though and on the plus side, I no longer need to fit the PDC sensor I bought from A8 Parts as it should now be fixed under the insurance!

Sorry to hear this and can emphathise after mine was hit recently. Glad to hear that fault wasn't questioned - too easy for people to say it was the other way around!

The driver was very apologetic about it. Just an accident and no one was hurt.

My concern now is that the insurance company may write it off, there's a fair amount of stuff needing replacing on the front plus the hire car...

The hire car is irrelevant to write-off decisions, they need to do that as the collision screwed up your travel plans. It's a cost they have to bear whatever.

Insist on a repair, it's your right, the damage doesn't look significant.
If they argue insist they find an equivalent replacement first - you know they can't!

That argument worked for me on my first S8, and it was stolen and crashed with no-one found to blame/charge. Over £20K to fix but they did it!

2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!
