Stephen's engineering in Ware did mine 3 years / 10k miles ago. No nasty surprises. They seem to know what they're doing.
They did mine and he absolutely loved the car. He said 'weren't they voted the best car in the world - and I can see why...'

I've seen that quote mentioned quite a few times, though I've yet to find the original source for it

Hi all
My car is booked in for an extended gearbox service at Mackie's next week. By extended I mean I am also having the front lower valve body and F215 switch replaced at the same time.

I can't remember exactly what thread I was reading a while ago but is it recommended to shorten the intake tube on the new strainer 5mm or so?

I had my box serviced again at Mackies today and , to clarify, the service is to drop the sump, change the filter, hot flush (but not reverse flush) and refill with new ATF. But price is due to increase from £155 to around £180 - still a bargain Imho seeing that the ATF costs over £50.

Current mods: solar sun roof, 20mm rear spacers, 15 mm on front, red brembo callipers, 6k headlights, rear view camera, engine remap, alloy dash dial rings, alloy navi rings, tt/phaeton pedal upgrade, (and custom matching foot rest) dension ipod interface & parrot hands free kit (both fully hidden), av input, tv in motion switched thro' PF switch in blanking plug right of steering column, Audi 'quattro' sill covers, repositioned centre console switches, radio clock, .
Planned mods: auto-dimming rear view mirror, dash cam (as steamship's), fit the ski hatch, refit philips drl's (or maybe not - nope, definitely not - horrible botch!).
