0378 - Coolant Circulation Pump VCDS error?

Hi there,

Ever since I bought the car I have had this fault;

0378 - Coolant Circulation Pump
B10D0 04 [009] - Internal System Fault
Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00000001
Fault Priority: 3
Fault Frequency: 4
Reset counter: 111
Mileage: 148677 km

I am guessing this is not the main water pump but a secondary/auxiliary pump?

Also guessing this is 12v powered and not belt driven.

I have Googled and see that in most cases the fault manifests itself with the in-car heating blowing cold air but on mine the HVAC works perfectly blowing nice & warm when the weather is cold.

Where is this coolant circulation pump located and is it easy to test?

I have scanned the manual and don't see a separate control fuse listed for it.

Any help/guidance etc. would be much appreciated.
