I'll be doing this swap on my Murple S8 as soon as it needs brakes or upper suspension arms. Its mechanically easy, but sourcing the parts is very difficult as the spindles / uprights are extremely rare now. I've bought whole A8s just for the front uprights D3 A8 brakes are pretty thin on the ground too, although Phaeton bits are easier to get and a lot cheaper. D3 S8 brakes are almost impossible to find.

Basically this:

It just wedges between the FL upper strut brace and the back of the master cylinder and stops the master cylinder moving (or at least reduces the movement). I haven't quite got the spacing correct on mine yet so it needs tweaking, and tbh I wasn't satisfied with my printed version. I used PLA which has the highest compressive strength of any of the domestic printing plastics, but it still flexes too much. I did try redesigning it but it didn't help much and then it interfered with the plastic cover on that side of the rain tray.

I am planning to further refine my design to get the angles right and then I'll send it off to my CNC guy to see what it will cost in aluminium, but I'm curious to see what MarkIII's design looks like and how it works

I have been emailing the guy in the US who made or had made the group buy ones they have. I was trying to get a feel for what it would cost to get some shipped over here. This is his reply with some attachments so you can see what I am talking about.

"Hi Frank
I checked on shipping via usps to the UK,

$90 for 5 lbs.

Its probably not going to weigh that much though?*

Prices are $35 each for 10 or more, plus postage.

Robert"
------------
What do you think? Is it worth persuing, anyone interested?

350 USD for 10 + 90 USD postage + 20% tax. A rough calculation tells me about £45 each.

I’m up for one, either from the US or through Michaela’s contact. £45 seems fair

I'm interested but have 2 queries:
1. Is it definitely the same for LHD and RHD?
2. What about the issue Michaela found of fouling the cover?
