Default firmer suspension after brake change

oh dear! just as i was grinning due to the very economical disk and pad change i have another potential issue.

the car rises and falls as requested/selected.
the air compressor works fine. and shuts down when needed( i changed the rely last year)
the car sits fine.
but on driving the suspension is much firmer then before, almost skittish.
i suspect that the jacking mode was not selected when the pads were changed
i have read threads re. jacking if this is not selected.
but the compressor works and and there are no air leaks etc....
any ideas please .
cheers raj

I honestly thought Jacking Mode is a safety feature to stop the car trying to level itself when on the widow-maker jack. Plus the suspension ECU recognises if it's on a workshop lift, all this is in an Audi SSP.

The firmer suspension does ring a bell though, quite sure someone else has posted about this on here. I think they disconnected the battery?
