Don't think you will get a decent D3 for £4k, although I haven't ever really looked at them for sale. I am just going to buy Ian's when he sells.
 Honestly, I would buy A8 Pilots car as it is the best pre facelift for sale at a bargain price with the reliable four speed box in desirable sport spec, it will do 30 MPG on petrol, possibly 40 MPG equivalent on LPG. Work out how long it would take for the conversion to pay for itself and if that is for you I suppose.

It is cheap, and probably with good reason. The non original wheels and dark tints make me suspicious, but worth a look if it's close by, just look carefully for signs of poorly repaired damage or poor maintenance.

Can I ask about the A8 reliability.
I get a sense most are saying it is very reliable. But, IT has pointed out NEW 3.0TDI is less so, and 4.0TDI is even more problematic. Does this mean for Audi's, whereas in general diesels last forever (200k+), this is not the case and it is the bigger petrol (4.2 or is it just the D2 4.2) that can last and last?
