Roberto - I saw that one. Has some wing damage, scratches and a heater prob. Good price. There is another on for 6K up in manchester with a similar spec too.

Personally i'd go for LPG. It's dual fuel so you can play with petrol and it starts on petrol anyway, so you have *ALL* the power, but with a press of a button you have LPG and economy as well. To be fair, I run my 2000 S8 360bhp V8 most the time on LPG and only ocasionally when you push hard does it drop to petrol

I sent a message to that eBay seller last time when it was up for £5k about when the cambeltwas changed and extent to heater damage, but no reply.

Ideally I wouldn't like a LPG, family experience and word of mouth doesn't fill me with confidence and I don't need the mileage. Yes it would be nice, but not at the risk of the bills I saw last time

Do you have a link to the one in Manchester for same price? I can't find it.

Hi RickB,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2003-Audi-...item416fca723d

I don't see why you say bills with LPG ??? I've had mine 3.5yrs and all it has had on the LPG side go wrong is a water hose split. I was away at the time. Blocked the divert from the radiator and ran on petrol. It's had a service or two on the LPG side as well.

I will say with LPG *ALWAYS* keep some petrol in the tank (they start on petrol anyway) as the petrol pump needs petrol to lubricate. Mine got too low and burnt out the pump, but that was more due to a battery fault and level guage and my own stupidity. I now always keep an 1/8-1/4 on the guage, adding £20 of petrol once/twice a month.

I had a few niggles with mine which are now resolved and there will be no more problems for many miles

Petrol cools the pump and I get away with around £30 per month as you say its just warming up on petrol and switches over when coolant temp is above a set temp.

I have mine set at, I think, 38 and it generally switches over within a mile or two, there's no rough running and the switchover is imperceptible.

Just personal experience with my parents Rangey, had numerous issues with LPG and has just put me off. I have no real need for the mileage, so would rather steer clear of LPG.

I work in Birmingham so hoping to go see this next week, but have been told it hasnt had cambelt done, what mileage is it recommended to be done? Also isnt my personal choice in colour or alloys, but beggars cant be choosers.

Should've been done on age grounds by now. Mine'a a 52 plate s8 and had it done 2 years ago! Cost will vary a lot but budget £750 at an indy

I suspect that car has little history - full VOSA history just means they've printed all the old mot docs off!!

Thanks Adrian

I am not expecting much, the area of Birmingham its in isn't the best, add to that they can't even get the price right, its advertised for a different price on eBay and pistonheads.

Agree about the history. I asked about it and they ignored my query, just answered about the cambelt. They didn't say it hadn't been done just they "couldn't find the paperwork" so I am guessing the logbook is missing along with all service history

But since I am in area next week its worth a look

For my two penneth, its a bit underwhelming. Its a very basic spec for a D3 and its only interesting feature is the low mileage, which to be honest I dont find half as appealing as a well specced car in a nice colour combo...

Go take a look, but I suspect the one you look at after it will seem better
