Default Height calibration problems

So i have put the lowering links kit on my A8, i have now tried to recalibrate the suspension but when i input the reading into channel three it keeps coming up invalid constantly no matter what i do, and now have a constant orange light on in the car and a fault as the badic setting has not been done but how do i get it to accept the third channel?

I don't know specifics of D3 lowering but it is either links ore doing it through VCDS, there is no need to do both.

Default Suspension calibration on D3

Hi Colin,

I had problems doing mine. The technique with VCDS is very specific and is on the VCDS wiki.

Open controller, select channel 1, allow it to go down then up until it reads something like ready. Then put in value as measured. Press test then SAVE. Move to channel 2 and repeat including save. When all 4 wheels done, you need to put value (1 from memory) into channel 5, test then SAVE again. Only then will light go out and may need fault to be cleared.

You cannot miss any wheel and have to follow the sequence from channel 1 to channel 5.

I was missing out the save, worked for first 2 wheels, but gave invalid on channel 3 or 4 and light would not go off. I put standard values in first to prove it was all ok, before then redoing measurements second time around.

Good luck

Richard

Got the bottom of the problem folks-

When i was fitting the rear shortend links the arms on that the links fit on to were attached the wrong way round, (me not paying attention again)

So i took the links of the sensor side, flipped them 180 drgrees and hey presto all is good aswell as no warning lights and all heights work on the mmi

Top tip: take pictures when taking things off 😂😂😂
