At least you have the option to use the base with the adult belt, although a bit odd you still put the diagonal bit around the seat itself...

This is ours:
http://www.maxi-cosi.com/gb-en/carseats/baby/easyfix

I've been using our Cabriofix without the base as it's been in our A6 while my car's been off being painted and hadn't got around to swapping it back till today - it's a bit of a drag but it gets quicker with practice!

The Britax one is a real pain as they sell different bases for adult belt or Isofix restraint!

With the Group 1 seats for older children it's possible to get a really solid install with the adult belt - worth buying a seat protector to go under/behind it to stop the leather getting mullered - Babies R Us sells one that's proving pretty good.

I'll just put up with messing around with the belt for now, might even sell the base and buy something shiney for the car

Also you got a link for the mats to protect the leather cant seem to find them

Hiya

Can't find it on Babys R Us site now, but they have it on Amazon

Amazon link

Folds up differently depending on type of seat being used (forward or rearward facing)

I know people that have retrofitted it to an S4 in the past.
Yeah, but you have the really cool facility to install the child seat, then wind the rear seat forward to take up the slack properly... Saves all that tugging at the seatbelt that 'normal' folks have to do...

don't know if it's of any use, but ISOFIX can be retrofitted on any D2.
See ( in German, use Google translate when stuck )

I'm sure I saw a thread fairly recently (probably here) about that - the fixings on a baby seat totally wrecking the leather.

Was one ian posted I think where it'd been in and out that many times the leather was trashed. A quality seat shouldn't do that amount of damage. Mine with isofix would go in without any damage but might mark the leather eventually from squashing. Seat protector is cheap and you'd never know I'd had car seats in the back of mine for 2 yrs
