How to get rid of water spots after washing
ok so my car as most of you know has has a full respray in pearl gloss black and its so hard to get rid of the water marks on it and was wandering what you use i have tried using a leather shammi or shamy or however you say it and polishing it dose nothing im wandering whats the best thing to use ?? many thanks

I stopped using a leather to dry as it was always leaving streaks, I use microfibre cloths to dry now and wash them after every use without using conditioner, seems to work better IMHO

Im sure CtL uses some "special water" via a device he purchased but im also sure that a lot of it will be down to a) how well and how much prep and polish you get on there first and b) the type of cloths you are using to dry/wipe the car. James (mkoneman) is a good person to ask about this as he has a black car

I only ever use passing air resistance as I speed out of the jetwash to dry mine...
 ... and thats only once a year....  I knew there was a reason I never come into the spotless section. i'll get me coat...

I never dry my car. I use a water scrubber that reduces the TDS to less than 4 PPM. Then just let it air dry. Reduces holograms and spidering big style.
I have one of these. Just rince and forget.

First ever a8oc meet Mike showed us how he does it and it works on black.
Wash from top down. rinse off roof. Using large MF cloth, held at two corners, drag cloth across surface. Cloth sticks to panel but applies no real pressure reducing risk of scratching and leaving no spots. literally rinse and repeat for other panels. I live in a hard water part of Kent and enjoy no spots. Bill

I use a big MF towel on mine, but if you've got a couple of good layers of wax on, it should reduce it down too. CtL uses filtered water (industrial sized brita filter) as he said above (posted while I was typin).
