Cool Fate of an A8...

Model and year: D2 A8 2000
Previous owners: 5
Mileage when acquired: 171k
Current mileage: 176k
Length of ownership: 11 months
Interesting features: LPG, and Tiptronic steering wheel (seems odd in a "cooking" 3.7, not Sport).
Previously owned by a Peer of the Realm (not fair to say name, was nice guy selling) and Registrar of the University of Exeter. Now owned by newsagent from Barnsley, South Yorkshire: luckeeeee....
Previous car: Rover 620, 2 Ltr Auto (long story, SWIMBO's fault).

Observations so far....

D2's appear to be the most popular.
Mannyo and Moltaue shared lowest number of previous owners (2).
MikkiJayne and 1781cc share the highest number of previous owners (6).
Sir Will has the highest mileage (191k), was hoping someone would crack 200k!
1781cc has the lowest mileage (69k).
Moltuae has owned their chariot the longest (6.5 years).
Spanker has owned his the shortest (2 months).
MikkiJayne has to have the most interesting feature with a 39v V8

Yeah, I'm intrigued what the story is behind the 'the 39 valves' (wasn't that a book by John Buchan?).

I think we should take these stats and turn them into Top Trump cards! ..... Something to play at the meets

It's all on the forum, fairly recent too. With photographic evidence (not looking too good down this plughole!):

And inside:

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions, ski hatch retrofit; extended leather. Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.).
2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!
