Three months in and!
Well it's been three months now and I'm really starting to fall for the big 8
it does everything I ask of it in such an awsome way. It was only ment to be a stop gap car untill I decided what car I really wanted. Now I'm slightly lost as the cars I was thinking of were more sports orientated (m3 or s4), now I'm not sure that performance is so important in the real world! Now don't get me wrong, I have owned powerful cars and modified 300bhp turbocharged hot hatches but I think the a8 has opened my eyes to what I have been ignoring, or mabe that I'm now 30 im starting to think a little different. Sorry to rant on but I just thought I would share my thoughts as a new a8 owner and mabe help someone who has always liked the a8 but has been unsure in the past. Here are a couple of photos of my Sunday drive out with all the family lol |

Yeah, I felt the same way after a few months in my first '8 (an early D2)
I've had my current D3 for around 9 months now and I'm at the point where I wonder why I would want to drive anything else...

I've owned '8s for close to 10 years, and I still feel the same about them.
I've had my current late-D2 S8 for over 4 years and I had two 4.2 A8s before that. I frequently get to drive lots of different cars, old and new, fast and slow. Everything from shopping trolley micro cars to brand new Range Rovers and Beamers. And, without exception, I'm always glad to get back in my S8 afterwards. There are cars that are faster or more economical or that are more luxurious and comfortable even, but the '8s do all those things and they do them exceptionally well. There really is no better car for the money. If you want a big car that is luxurious, fast, comfortable and has astonishing grip and handling; something that you can drive in a sedate, relaxed manner that can also be driven hard and fast when the mood takes you .... there really is nothing else to choose from. |

That's a fairly significant but. And, even if they were readily available, at what price? You can't beat a used '8 for value for money. Personally, I prefer the badge too. In my view, the Audi brand represents quality and luxury without the pretentiousness of the Merc brand ... but maybe I'm just biased. |
