Default 2003 petrol A8 4.2 quattro for sale.

SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD

thanks for all the messages etc

Hi, I have been on this forum for the last few years but not really added any value to it! but have enjoyed the posts and banter.

Anyway I need to sell my beloved A8. I am looking for around £4500.

Its a 2003 D3 A8, 4.2 V8 petrol version with 93400 miles on the clock - slowly going up.

I have owned it since 1/08/2008 and its had two former keepers, last change was 10/01/2005. It was first registered on 28/10/2003

it perhaps does not have the wonderful specification some of you guys have on your various D2 and D3's but it does have a nice spec..well i think so anyway!

Oyster Grey with a nice leather interior, no idea if sport or comfort seats - but they are very comfortable!
Air suspension - sport
Full auto with paddle shift.
Audi advanced key - two keys.
Bose surround music system, 6 CD autochanger
Navigation.
TV function
Electric rear and manual rear side window blinds
Front and rear parking sensors
Double glazing on side windows - probably standard.

will add more if i can think of any items..

It has a full service history, mostly Audi but last two with an VW/ Audi specialist garage.

I had the thermostat, timing belt and water pump changed on 24/09/2012 at 87339 miles.

Service history is

Audi PDI: 07/05/03
Audi: 11/01/05 at 10650 miles
Audi: 16/11/06 at 28121 miles
Audi: 20/06/08 at 40422 miles
Audi: 12/01/10 at 58222 miles
VW specialist: 29/06/11 at 80024 miles
VW specialist: 1/07/13 at 89489 miles

MOT is to July this year and has Audi MOT protection which I believe can be transferred to a new owner ( no doubt for a fee)

MOT history is:
July 13 at 89585 miles
July 12 at 86527 miles
July 11 at 80088 miles
July 10 at 66105 miles
July 09 at 49744 miles
July 08 no idea miles!
July 07 at 35120 miles

I have every receipt and service invoice since the day I bought the car

I have loved this car ( can one love a car?) , it drives really very well, there in nothing wrong with it mechanically or electrically as far as i am aware. everything works on the car, no fault or warning lights on the dash. Paintwork is in nice condition for the year, it has a few surface scratches and stone chips as to be expected for its age and mileage. it is normally garaged and I can't remember the last time anyone sat in the back of it.

Anyway its for sale and available to view in Aberdeenshire Scotland, between Dundee and Aberdeen.

I will answer any reasonable questions, and am happy to ping across more pictures for anyone interested.

I am looking for around £4500 but will take sensible offers.

PM me if your interested and thank you in advance for any forthcoming points, observations, errors pointed out or even nice comments !
Cheers David.

Couple of other things i remembered.

Car has a factory fitted hands free and remote handset phone in the armrest - just stick your SIM into the remote handset.
Multi function steering wheel with audio and phone controls
Finger print start ( part of advanced key system)
Cruise control.
Navigation disc is 2009 version
Full ( unused ) set of standard tools in the boot
Cargo net in the boot

Thanks for the nice comments, as for a replacement I am not sure yet.

It's only advertised on here at the moment, if no one here wants it, I will advertises it elsewhere or call one of those car buying companies.

We are relocating to a smaller island and the car ( cars ) sadly can't go with us.

Ok, so far only one enquiry and that were only tentative.

If anyone is interested in buying this lovely A8 then call me 07502226294.

Open to sensible offers.

We leave the UK in March, the car <and the mobile number > has to go, shame to let it go to WBAC.com....

We also have a silver, good condition Volvo XC70 D5 ( 185 bhp) auto 4x4 estate with 109k miles on it, full history and new discs and brake pad all round less than 1k miles ago, comes with two sets of nearly new tires, one set winter, one set all season. Wife drives it up and down the A90 every day at 55mph ish

Anyway, call if interested, and thanks

It would be a shame to do that to it, even i would give you a better price than them (maybe) I would imagine most in the market for a 4.2 petrol D3 will be looking for the ones stuffed with toys like ACC and the like.
I hope someone buys it.

..it does have the standard cruise control, but not adaptive.

It's is a nice specification, has most things that are needed to enjoy an A8, including an amazing V8 engine and truly comfortable seats.

The advanced key is nice, auto rear blind convenient and the adaptive sport suspension coupled with the multi options for changing gears ( paddle, full auto or sequential ) adds to the driving bliss. Ambient lighting is nice for night travel, as are the puddle lights for when you exit the car, I also like to auto dipping side and rear view mirrors.

The TV function is only analogue and thus being phased out, but is still works at the moment.

Full hand free phone, Bose surround sound and double pane glass all add to the ambience.

Anyway, I like it, I have not missed any particular extra functions, although I admit that auto wipers and lights might have saved a bit of time.

Trying to join a busy road with circa 365bhp under your right foot is a true joy!! You don't need much of a gap

Thanks for the comments...
