I've not seen it on a D2 before, but thats the exact same noise my A6 1.9TDI makes with a locked-up alternator pulley...

In that case I'm gonna have to find an alternator or a brand new rotor with extra long thread to accommodate the clutch pulley. I destroyed the one I had trying to get the pulley out with a breaker bar. In my case the clutch spun freely in both directions

OK, so it turns out that the 2.8 Alternator with freewheel pulley has a rotor thats longer to accomodate said pulley.
Part number for the rotors can be found from 2 different manufacturers: HC-Cargo Art. Nr: 138177 https://as-pl.com/en/p/AR0066 A rotor and a freewheel pulley is all thats needed to convert an A8 alternator into 2.8 alternator, there is no specific part number for a 2.8 alternator with freewheel clutch.
