Elsa suggests 3.5g/s to 7g/s is fine, but thats for a S8.

Thank you much appreciated.
Looking at it today the MAF was almost new in appearance and all seems to be in order. So therefore if the MAF is OK then perhaps the torque converter fault code is correct. Time to just drive it and if it dies then someone can have it for parts. |

MAF disconnected
As part of my diagnosis, I have disconnected the MAF and the car now runs and idles much better. Almost perfectly after about 2-3 seconds.
Strangely, the car has never gone this hard. Almost goes like my RS6 did, well almost. Really surprised and makes me wonder how long it may have been bad for? Would this imply that the car is now running on full rich mixture all the time? There is no hunting or rough idle at all. Interestingly I believe there are a couple of very similar part numbers depending on the VIN# and engine code; 077133471J, 077133471JX & 077133471K (only the letters at the end change). Any part with an 'X' in the end is exactly the same as the part without 'X' only difference is price - it is cheaper but you have to give your old part back in exchange. J is for 2.8 engine, K will be for S8. According to ETKA 'K' is no longer available, only as 'KX' on exchange basis.

I had a look at my MAF sensor today and gave it a "no contact" clean with brake cleaner spray.
For reference (FL S8) it's an 077133471K with a 5-pin connector (I cleaned the plug contacts too). Looking online there seems to be no saving by buying the small sensor unit on its own. Presumably that's the expensive bit and the extra plastic pipe cost is negligible. If you did want to change that it's just held on by a couple of "security" Torx screws, look like T10, T15 or similar. Do you still have that?
