Parking sensor wiring

Don't know, but I hope its wiring. At least it looks like I can get this sensor out without removing the bumper. There is nothing parked in front of the car, all sensors are reporting a distance of 255, which is the maximum value.

Would you believe it, today the parking sensors are working perfectly normally again. I've not done a thing either, weird... very weird...

Could be some water ingress, or even just some crap on the sensor.. See how it goes for a bit.

Well after driving for 3 hours in the rain on very wet roads today the parking sensors have stopped working again, so its water getting in somewhere. Hopefully one day the rain will stop and I'll be able to get a look at the front sensor wiring connector.

I'm still non the wiser, decided to try and find the connector today as the weather is dry and sunny and cannot find it. I even resorted to getting behind the front wheel arch liner where the air compressor is and its not obvious there either, all I could find there was the wiring for the air compressor itself.

Also I wonder what those plastic ball shaped objects are?

The plastic balls are are reservoirs for the system, to save turning the compressor on and off so much.

I've realised just now that your 8 is the one with small grille and different bumper than mine, is it possible your connectors are somewhere else

I've got two connectors on the bottom of the bumper passenger side as mentioned before.

Pictured car (if relevant at all) is a European version, so not sure if the connector is still on the same side in UK models.
If is, then my apologies Manny, connector will be on the drivers side

Thanks, I'll check the drivers side at some point.

Drove from Hertfordshire back to Dorset this evening, despite covering 150 miles in the dry (makes a change) the sensors are still not working at all currently.

Mine is pre facelift, so has the two separate centre grills rather than the single piece, but I believe wiring wise they are both the same.

This evening they are back to working occasionally, having not worked at all since Friday. Although currently more broken than working, its progress. Over the next day or so, they'll probably start working normally again until I drive it in the rain.
