A8/ S8 final drive
Is the S8 geared shorter than the A8?
My S8 sits around 2700rpm at 70mph. The A8 is more like 2100. |

Indeed it is. It also revs higher that its A counterpart.

Yep.. A main reason (apart fom the 30-odd hp) that the S8 is faster is due to the shorter gearing ratio.
Also a primary factor in them being less fuel efficient. But as Mike will no doubt be along to tell us in a minute.. LPG is the solution to that problem Or in my case.. A fuel card |
