Default D3 Wiper arm plastic caps

This is going to sound like a stupid question.

When I got the D3 back at the start of December last year it was missing the passenger side cap on the wiper arm nut. This week I ordered a replacement from ebay, new part thats meant to fit on the D3.

I cannot get the cap to go over the nut at all. it looks like its the right one when compared to the one on the drivers arm. The part number I have is 1J0955205A9B9 , maybe its the wrong one or maybe the nut which does have some very slight corrosion is the problem.

Swap the passenger and drivers over to see if the standard one fit?

I thought they was all the same 13mm nut. (i think)

Looks like the correct part number., apart from the 9B9 maybe.
Maybe someone lost the nut and replaced it with a different shaped one?

The nut looks original based on that picture, if the weather is ok Sunday then I'll perhaps undo the nut and see if it fits in the cap ok. I tried everything lastnight before it got dark and I gave up.

Sorted, I hope. The part was indeed the correct one, but I worked out why it would not go on. First I removed the nut, and discovered that it fit into the cap perfectly when not attached to the car. What was happening was that the outer part of the car was catching on something, so I trimmed the cap edges back a bit and it fits a treat now.
