Default New member and proud owner of a new D4

Hi all,

I've just taken delivery of a new A8 SE. Added options were Matrix headlights and Piano black trim.

I've previoulsly owned three 7 series BMW and made the switch to Audi in order get the quattro drive.

I can already tell you 100% it's a major improvement over the rwd BMW.

Anyway hello everyone. I look forward to sharing information as and when. I've already completed my own ski hatch / thru loading conversion and will post the procedure with pictures soon.

Cheers,

Firepit

Welcome.

I was just watching a video on the Matrix headlights.
Looks very clever.

Get some pics up when you got them.

I've only driven it once at night but the lights are awesome. It's like a full beam arc all the time except it blanks out a small piece of the arc where it detects another vehicle.

No one flashed me yet, so they must be acceptable for oncoming cars. The auto dip on my old seven was slow to react and I'd get flashed quite a lot.

It's a the new 2014 3.0 TDI (258PS)

It's in Phantom black with a black interior. The piano black inlays make it look really classy inside.

Thus far it's done 200 lovely miles.

Welcome along from me!
Pics are a must
It will be good to get a few more views from D4 owners on the forum as they get into using their cars. Where are you based in the world?

Sounds like a nice car.. Get some pics up

The Matrix headlights were discussed a few times in the Le Mans coverage with a few mentions of the A8.

What's really cool and has had a few positive mentions already, from people who have followed me in and out of work, are the sweeping indicators. It's all a bit "Knightrider" I'm told.

Sounds really nice.

Watch out for the transmission selector! See my post! http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=6902

Also be careful if you take out the spare tyre, there is a battery monitor connector in the well. If you break the connector you stop/start won't work. Audi charged me £150 to sort it!
