Depends what pipe you use. I used copper brake pipe and it bends just fine by by hand or pliers.

I got a piece of 8mm copper plumbing pipe which just kinks or breaks when I try to bend it, found something online about using a piece of rope inside it or a spring, off to turn house and garage upside down now looking for springs and rope (sounds like a good working title for a country and western song)

Fill the pipe with dry sand and heat the area that you want to bend gently.

Thanks for that and sorry to keep coming up with problems, afraid I dont have access to a heat source or dry sand and how do you fill a pipe with sand anyway, its got holes both ends

Bung up one end with a bit of newspaper. Get some sand from the kidddies sandpit and dry it in an oven. Fill the pipe, plug the other end and borrow a blow torch...................

actually that has just reminded me I have a weed burner tucked away in the back of the garage, works just like a blow torch, bought it a while back to try and get shot of weeds on the drive but its not great to be honest, need a bigger flame thrower type I think, but that will probably heat the pipe up nicely, kids dont have a sandpit, but sure someone in the street must have, just need to bribe a kid with sweets to bring me some of their sand, love it when a plan comes together, cheers for that

I used 8mm microbore.

You need a very short turn right at the very end to point the tube down the hole, so your pipe needs to bend 90 degrees in half an inch. Make the tightest turn you can just by bending, then saw the pipe off short to give a right angled turn. You need the end turn to be very short.

If it's not quite tight enough after you saw it off, shove a screwdriver in and use that to tighten up the turn.

If you make the end turn over, say an inch long after the bend, your pipe will slide in fine, but you'll not be able to turn it to point it down the ole! The water will scoosh all over the place, but wont clear the blockage.

The other end, the end with the hose on is easy.

Remember, the business end must point towards the ground and that 90 degree bend only extend down half an inch from the rest of your tube.

Otherwise.......no workee!
