I'd agree with this - Dont get too distracted with what codes you currently have, just modify the ones you are interested.

Boot logic is likely the function where you can hold the boot release button down in order to open the boot.

Worst case, make a note of the code you started with so you can restore it, and you cant really go too far wrong

Ah but I'm an IT guy and it's just a load of binary codes so I DO want to understand.
And I'm getting there.

For example I have bit 0 set (+1) which isn't in most of the "recommended" standard codes as they're all even. It seems to be related to opening the boot with the key.
If I do that (turn anticlockwise quarter-turn) the boot unlocks but NOT the rest of the car which is what the manual says should happen.
It also sometimes does and sometimes doesn't trigger the alarm....
I presume this is the Security Central Locking option as the divers door also unlocks on its own with the key, but strangely the "double turn" doesn't unlock everything.

1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

So I turned it off and it made no difference to anything. So I put it back on again once I'd done all the other changes and tests below.

I've made and retained the following changes that worked OK:
+1024 for horn honk, it's actually a little chirp from the alarm siren on locking.
+64 for remote window up/down.
+32 for locking when moving off (15mph roughly)

Finally I tried +8 for Safety Lock and that had the weird effect of reversing the remote lock and unlock buttons. Now I've seen others report that on +16.
I'll recheck my maths and the codes but given I'm a trained mathematician with decades (literally) in IT my money is on me being correct here.

Edit: Lesson to self, if in doubt don't take what others say as gospel, work it out yourself from first principles.
I'd used someones decode (which they had done incorrectly) as having +8 off when it was actually already on, so adding another 8 did +16 (and -8).

Oh well, off to have another "adjustment"...

All done now, code set to 16363 which is everything "on" except +4 (nominally one-touch) and +16 (reverse remote lock/unlock buttons).

However with +8 (Safety Lock, or is it Alarm?) on the +4 function seems to be reversed, so I do have (and want) one-touch (all doors) remote unlocking.

As for unlocking with the key, nothing I do seems to change that, it just unlocks the drivers door until I turn the ignition on when all the others unlock; weird.

The only code I haven't investigated (or changed, just left on) is +2048 which one source lists as Door/Window Logic (USA). Something to try another day?
(though I suspect this is the setting that "kills" the 10-minute allowance of window/sunroof use after ignition-off if you open a door)
Edit: Had a quick play and it doesn't do much, turning it off it seems to defer the "kill" (on the drivers door anyway) from when you open it to when you subsequently close it.
At least that allows the driver to manually/individually shut windows seen to be open while still having the buttons within reach. So, now coded at 14315 FWIW.
