Have to agree, floor the throttle at around 70 - 80 and it gets to severe penalty points mode very quickly

That's the problem for me - all this power's not really useable on a day-to-day basis, which is why RS6s just don't seem to be able to keep pace with me on normal cross country blasts: it just takes them too long to get the power down for overtaking at "normal" - and at least close to legal - speeds.

Gosh we have taken over the original thread of IT

sorry ian ...

that white S8 appeals to me a lot but its SCOTISH
this means everything metal underneath will be rotting away, this is fact after buying 3 scotish cars over the years, they were all rotting..
also ive had underside videos done from VW & AUDI maindealers last year and severe corrosion put me off..both were 2018 cars
buyer beware !

Aye that's why there are no cars over 3 years old up here My son has an 06 plate Fiat which has not rotted away yet despite spending it's life in Scotland. I know we are all supposed to be nice on here, but frankly I find your approach to car buying very strange indeed.

Rob's a canny bloke, met him several times and made a few deals along the way, salt (no pun intended) of the earth. However, I am always bemused (and I've told him) by his buying options being determined by the tax disc cost when spending tens of thousands on the car

Nowt as queer as folk, eh
