The v8 can sound quite close I think abeit not as high reving as a petrol, I got my exhaust pretty close to these examples

The v10 stock exhaust though that would be a selling point for me I think, plus the slighty better interiors in the 'S's. I'm full time working from home so 15k miles a year to around 2k I could justify the petrol

All I hear is tractors

Take full advantage of the current travel situation, 2k miles a year at 7000rpm is much more fun than sounding okay low down

That said, it does take time to adapt from one to the other, earlier in my RS4 I changed down to 4th and opened her up on the motorway, given speed limits 2nd would have made more sense for maximum grin factor! A big thing for me was a desire for a manual gearbox, shame I'm too used to my tractor with a very competent slush box!!!!

Isn't removing the catalyst and/or DPFs an automatic MOT failure? If so, what's the point, unless you like changing exhausts over every year to pass the MOT. As for the testers, I know I've criticised the ones here in NI, but even the densest one will suspect something when a diesel car comes in sounding like a V8 AMG.

Go find yourself a S8.

As long as everything is 'in place' theres no issues passed 2 mot's, the S8 is very tempting

Whilst you are doing very low miles, get the V10, you won't regret it. If times change, you could always go back to the diesel although after the S8 I would doubt it

Cats and DPF left in place but 'empty' will be ok if you use your mot man who's known you a few years, lol

V8 tdi tuned to hell will leave you with the biggest grin on the torque factor scale alone, and 40mpg still possible, the V10 has many expensive issues

This

It's a no-brainer if you're not doing many miles
