I note the switch from a discreet black W12 saloon to a grey metallic S8 lol perhaps Audi are hoping they will sell a few more as a result!

D4 s8's were always good looking, well the facelift ones after the model in the trailer, don't like the pre face lift headlights with the Hyundai style led's in the headlights.

But it bugs me that they are rear wheel drive and not Quattro

Really!? I never knew that

That'd be a total deal breaker for me.

I was expecting a clip of a car transporter at a filling station

I'm a bit out of touch with action movies, admittedly, but 'The Transporter', really!? What happened to the cool action movie titles of yesteryear?

Would 513bhp twist your arm?

The trailer looks ok so will probably go to the cinema when it's out

SWMBO will be disappointed Statham isn't in the new film.

Nope. Not unless I was buying it purely for track-day use.

Knowing that they're RWD, if I was in the market for a new S8, I'd rather spend the money on something that did have AWD, such as Tesla P85D even.

AWD is the main reason I own an S8 now; I wouldn't have bought it otherwise.

Sorry for the confusion, I'm talking about the TV show and movies, if you watch they quite often have the car drifting with the rear wheels spinning, in the real world we know the s8 to be Quattro.

But movies are always doing things wrong, rear wheel drive cars that should be four, four stroke motorbikes with two stroke engine noises dubbed over etc.

The wife hates watching movies and TV shows with me because I always point out the things that are wrong

Delboy . . .
+1
Gwen gives me earache for the same reason.
The Annual meet was the first timeinSnowdonia for twenty plus years for me.
Since then I have been back four times.
Yesterday called out with a 12 metre coach to rescue a party fron Golan and took them home to High Wycombe. Stayed there for legal rest and drove the beast home this morning.
Was asked to do some similiar Sunday and Monday but managed to say "NO".
SWMBO says we need time to do our own thing.

Next time you're over that way and at a loose end let me know, I'm only a few miles from HW.

Have S8, WILL travel!

2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!
