I'm surprised about Saxtons. They're only a couple of miles from me in Chelmsford and have literally hundreds of cars in stock behind their posh new showroom, all lined up in a big aircraft hanger type thing. Been there a couple of times just for a look around at what they've got - a Q7 V12 TDI last time. Dozens of staff and always busy with customers.
Most of their stock is the usual Essex tat - white Range Rover Sports and Cayennes etc. but they do have the odd nice saloon car.

It may not be a perfect method but usually the face lift with the silver button start (rather than finger prints) on the s8 have the newer MMI.
And also rear side window blinds on that newer version was standard too. Both face lifts but newer and older versions of the face lift...

The White wrap 10k one is near me. I went there when looking at an RX8 and had a test drive in it. It's an odd place. Mostly greenhouses with a whole load of cars and stuff parked down the side....The Rx8 had papers off with the DLVA due to a reg swap but the guy thought he could sell me it anyway, which seemed a bit dodgy
Quite a prestigious car for the kind of place that seems to have mainly sub 5k pedestrian cars!

How to ID the newer MMI.
I believe that the newer versions have the additional wibbly button in the centre of the main control button. For the life of me I can't understand how the later MMI is better. I have both and frankly can't tell the difference, apart from said wibbly and totally without use or function extra button.
