Probably is much less .... it just seems like forever sometimes when you're waiting for it to revert back automatically. I usually don't wait. I'll either select another gear (using Tip) or briefly move the gear selector S -> D -> S to put it back in full auto.

OK, so back on gearbox internals rather than driver-related dynamic shift pattern stuff....

I fired up the Bentley this morning and found that it recommends resetting the adaptation of the gearbox after any work on it the TC or the valve body/solenoids etc.
It doesn't say so explicitly but I presume this is to ensure the internal workings are all suitably smooth.

It says this will facilitate faster learning of the appropriate settings for standard operation of the TCU and gearbox.

To do so you disconnect either the multiplug on the TCU or the battery for at least 15 minutes. No mention of any alternative methods.

There is no indication how quickly this would change normally, but given that it is now over 3 months since my F125 switch was changed and several years since a fluid/filter change I'd have to assume there's nothing more to do.

Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!
