Having had mine off it's held by Clic-R collars/clamps which are best removed/replaced with specialist pliers.

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions, ski hatch retrofit; extended leather. Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.). 2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one! Finally: gone, but not forgotten..... 1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors. e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later) 1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer. And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850! |

Are you sure you cant reach in behind the airbox and unplug it? I removed my airbox before, I am sure I unplugged it first before taking the airbox out. I just went out to the car, my SAI has been removed but I can easily reach to where the plug used to be.

If the air tube detaches from the back of the air box near the plug then I could reach, but sure how that detaches from the air box, and I dont want to break it! If you know how tube comes off, then that should give me room to get to the plug |

Ah, yes, sorry I forgot about the rubber tube. It is a press fit into the airbox and would have to be taken off the SAI motor unit from inside the airbox. Its really difficult to squeeze through that hole so not worth it if there is a easier way.
I wonder if there is a fuse in the fuse box that only relates to the SAI motor? That would be a much easier way to temporarily disconnect it. |

There should be a fuse somewhere, not sure where. There is relay for it in electronics box in plenum chamber, fuse might be next to relay.

I think I found it, should be fuse S130, a 50A fuse. I cant work out where its supposed to be in the drivers footwell on the side, or in one of the other fuse boxes. Maybe I'm being thick I cant find a fuse diagram in ElsaWin, surely there should be one?
Relay should be no. 4 in the passaenger footwell? |
