Rare as that may be with that mileage, I can't see how it's worth that much!

I don't know what the market for these is like as never owned a Jag, but looking at the pics etc before getting to the price I was thinking it'd start with a 2x,xxx so agreed it's not exactly cheap! Having said that, finding one of these that's not been driven into the ground and then rebuilt must be pretty rare? Can't imagine the underside has a mark on it - at least I'd hope it doesn't!

They only need one Jag fan to cough up the cash - or they may still have it for sale in 12 months lol

That's properly lovely. My Grandad had several rare jags over the years, including a LWB like that (all be it 6 cyls). I spent many a weekend helping him clean them.

That is astonishingly rare (unique?) in that spec and mileage.

I'm sure it's worth the money to someone. Will only appreciate if it's kept low mileage and perfect.

Its good there are still cars like this to be found.

I wonder if in 30-40 years a car made today will be found like this?

Me and a friend had a good find not as good as this but we got (for free!) a D reg Fiesta XR2 that had been in a garage for 19 years its only got 19,000 miles on it! It was in outstanding condition until a 4x4 crashed into the back of it

I'd say £20k market value, but yes to a collector, that could be considered a fair price they are asking I suppose.

Keep looking in that Jag section, you'd be very surprised how many mint 1970s cars like that come up for sale! Mainly the XJ6 mind.

Trouble with any BL car of that era; they were put together (badly), and the paintwork applied afterwards. This is why they rusted so quickly

That said, I'd love a car like this

Brings back happy memories of an XJ12C and 8mpg

Those were the days!
(but at least petrol was affordable)
