just getting round to doing this.
is it the same procedure as the rear differential seal for this front seal that i'm doing?

Essentially yes.

You take off the driveshaft at the inside (I'm pretty careful so I mark the relative positions of the flange and the driveshaft with chalk before removal) , there's a drive flange held on by a centre nut, undo the nut and the flange pulls off, carefully lever out the seal (Make sure that you see how deeply it mounts in the case), check and clean the flange where it seals against the rubber seal and replace this, bolt on the driveshaft
and the job's a good'un.
