if your going to do this, it might be benificial to have a look at the kufatec model, i picked this up on a thread on another site. The kufatec has DAB plus (and other stuff)which not only picks up more channels and is the more upkeeping with the latest tech it may well be better quality sound. this particular guy was in one of the nordic countries which doesnt have that many DAB channels and all new ones are on DAB plus.

if your going to do it you may as well have the latest

you can get a 2nd hand audi oem for around £100 on ebay though if your lucky

My DAB is faultless, I use it everywhere and only sometimes does it drop out of signal if in the middle of nowhere on the motorway, but pretty sure I can go from Birmingham to London without a single drop of reception.

I can't remember if DAB works properly on the TV ports on the antenna, I know I was using mine for a bit with the wrong aerial port but I'm pretty sure using the correct aerial the signal was much improved

My DAB reception was very spotty but since I changed the aerial unit (Thanks to our sponsors) improved an awful lot. Now it used even more than the AMI, even by the grandkids.

Factory: finger print, tv, xenons, keyless entry & go, soft close boot, 19s, and probably lots more besides

Done: fixed headlight washer leak, fit Bluetooth in place of factory phone

To do: DAB, DTV, fix soft close boot, get a spare key, investigate NSF bushes,

HI there, may I ask a silly question, how do your kids watch their movies? (Is there a DVD slot i've missed somewhere?) Or, are you connecting another device into your system? (please, no slagging...i'm only getting to grips with all this : )

we dont do slagging here

The hybrid unit was put in with all three cables AV1, AV2, and AVOUT

i connected a DVD/SC/USB player in the boot with a remote eye

Connected the output of the dvd to AV1

connected the OUT of TV to the In of DVD

This means that the rear headrests can watch DVD sdcard etc or The TV

and most importantly when they are little, everything can be controlled from the front seat with a remote.
