Default Misaligned passenger door

On the D2 that I've just acquired, it's clear that the ns/f door has been off.

The door is fine but its sticking out a bit at the bottom. rear vertical edge of the door is a little proud so when you look along the side from the rear you see the door is slightly proud.

How to adjust?

It's usually a matter of slightly loosening the hinge and moving the door into line.

Or maybe just adjusting the striker plate inside the door.

Well Folks

If you want to adjust the strikers, (found on the 'B' post for the front doors, ie on the shell), first get the right tool!

Its a thing called a XZN. (four squares) and you'll need a no. 8.

I got a great 'Draper expert' kit for 26.50.
Contains a bunch of hex, torx and XZN's, in long and short versions plus 1/2 and 3/8 holders.

You'll not see it in Halfords. Try ebay!

Spent an enjoyable 30 mins trueing up all 4 doors. (all 8 bolts were on the loose side of torqued btw)

Here's the wacky bit. I'll swear the car drove nicer after the work than it did before!

It was defo quieter over bumps and had less wind noise. Seemed more of a whole thing than it did before.

Also it is dead straight along the flanks now........so pretty.

To be fair the pass door had plainly been off the car, and not refitted as carefully as one might expect, but still I was mightily pleased with a very short effort. What a great value fix!

What a brilliant car this is!
