Default Air Suspension Calibration Procedure

Guys,

Ive followed the ross tech procedure, however when I move to the rear wheels it throws up ERROR SECURITY ACCESS REQUIRED. It does not let me complete.

I obvisouly enter the code prior to going into adaptation.

Any solutions? Thanks in advace.

Ross tech interface used with VCDS.

Steve

I was able just to confirm the values which were already stored. Which resulted in the level sensor thinking it is calibrated, and showing no faults.

If I take the time to insert the correct values, I only get to the thrid wheel before it shows the error: security access required.

Is it on a timer? Can it be adjusted to allow complete programing 1 to 5?

The procedure is very fussy and difficult to complete.

How far are you trying to adjust, the key is to input small differences to the current values and repeat several times until you get it to complete successfully.

Audiworld has a good step by step guide.

Ensure the car is on a perfectly flat level surface and don't be sitting in the car while you are calibrating the suspension! Have the window open and laptop on the roof or bonnet.

All four cornerss are at various setting. The worst 40mm lower rear right. Ive been trying it in small steps (15mm). After code one wheel, and I move up to 2, it throws up “ERROR: Security access required”. At which point i have to exit input 31564 begore starting again. Sometimes I get to wheel 4 before the error.

Ive been following the instructions, not in car and level etc.

Seems like it's loosing connection somewhere in the middle of procedure, then reconnects and you need to enter code again. this is more common with clone cables but sometimes low/weak battery can cause it as well, try connecting battery charger while you do it.

The other thing I've noticed is that if you have any kind of air suspension fault or issue then you will need to ensure all of those issues are fixed first before trying to re-calibrate as it doesnt seem to like calibrating with any kind of known fault

Guys, i eventually got around to looking at this fault again. I discovered after a day of messing around. The input value must be showing valid, before saving and moving on to the next wheel. It maybe just shaking the car will adjust the sensor to a valid reading. Or, in my case I had the jack up rear right, to allow the wheel to raise and fall, before getting a valid status.

I hope this helps others.
