Exclamation A8l 4.2 fsi 2007 suspension promlem

Good Morning. This is the first time i have posted anything. I have a AUDI A8L 4.2 FSI with a suspension problem. The suspension is in the raised position with the amber light on, green light come on when with passengers in but goes out when they exit and on the MMI screen I have only the COMFORT and AUTOMATIC showing with the rest Grayed out. I have had my car for a diagnostic check and it came up with the following

0575 LEVEL CONTROL VALVE OPEN CIRCUIT/EARTH SHORT

and one which he managed to delete

06EA LEVEL CONTROL COMPRESSOR TEMP SENSOR SHORT TO EARTH.

Any help would be helpful I have browsed for many months and find you get more help on this forum than any AUDI dealership. I live in the Newcastle Area
but would be willing to travel to have my car checked by proper enthusiast as I am always getting conflicting reports. Any help would be grateful.

Welcome to the Forum.
I don't have any suggestions for you about this problem, but there are many folks here who will surely offer their help and expertise in short order.
My knowledge is in the electrical area.

Mmmm interesting one that, I googled the fault codes you gave and not much comes up, I suspect these codes are from a generic obd code reader and not a VCDS interface.

If you haven't got one I thoroughly recommend the purchase of one, if you want any pointers just ask.

As for the faults its an unusual one that I have not seen on the many posts regarding compressor problems.

If the codes are to believed the issues you have are or were in two separate locations or at the common point of the suspension controller, but again I have not heard of these failing either.

Have look through here if your technically minded or even just mildly interested. http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=9347

The suspension compressor is in the passenger side behind the fog light, access via the wheel arch after removing the wheel and liner, thats where the temp sensor is located, the valve block is on the opposite side of the wheel arch again wheel and liner need to be removed, the suspension controller is inside the car behind the carpet on the bulkhead somewhere but i have never seen it.

It would be interesting to see what a vcds scan says is wrong wit the car

Exact same issue happened with me its a simple fix !!

Take the wheel arch liner off pass side

locate the cable the goes to the drain off valve on the compressor and strip the wire and renew it,

It will lock the suspension and also will be very stiff due to it not allowing the suspension to relieve the air inside it to adjust, its almost like a permanent Jacking mode symptom,

you will find the signal wire to the electro magnetic valve broken, simply re solder it and heat shrink it and you will be away to go again

if you get stuck PM me i can always come take a look for you pending your not in scotland

Hi Got the garage to check that this morning, the wiring to the electro magnet is fine no breaks or anything. Discovered there is no Live Feed to the Compressor?? Checked in the passenger footwell the fuse and Relay are fine

sounds like it might be a poor connection at the pump end or a poor earth - it gets quite a lot of much chucked into that area sometimes
