OK, I have been a bit of a spanner - so now I see that the Gearbox fluid is listed under Lifeguard 8 on the PDF if I am reading it right?

Would anyone have used this before:

I used http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-982-fuch...-gear-oil.aspx as it has the friction modifier for Quattro already in it. It can be used in all 3 diffs. The last two digits of these part numbers is usually the size of the bottle so may vary.
Much appreciated. By the way, how often do the diff oils need changing? It doesn't say in the service book as far as I can see......?

The background is that I just purchased a 56 plate 2007MY A8 4.2FSI. It has 72k miles but no record of ATF or doff oils being replaced. The dealer has said they will get this done, however as I am a stickler for detail in terms of maintenance (I used to have a R35 GTR for 5 years ffs lol) I want to make sure that the correct fluids are used and work carried out correctly.

Thanks again

C

OK, sorry for all the posts but I decided to keep it simple and take the car to Guy in the coming weeks. Spoke to him today, what a nice chap.

Cheers

Well done Christer.
Unfortunately only just arrived home and found your posts.
I would have told you about Guy. The only problem is distance. It takes me two and a half hours driving each way but consider worth doing.

Hi

It would be 1.5 to 2 hours each way for me, but as it only needs doing rarely I don't have an issue with that. In the past I have in the case of some cars travelled far further and more often in order to get things sorted the way I like them

Thanks again for replies.

Christer
