nightmare day
Decided to clean the throttle body today and when removing it, the bit tool i was using fell into the bell housing.
What's the best way to get it out???? this is where I think it went in, and I can now see a silver score mark where the bit must be rubbing off the rust.

get one of those flexible arm magnets and poke around till it sticks on the end, but without seeing the hole it fell into thats just a best guess

It's either bouncing or stuck next to something that is moving.

Pull the transmission, if a flexi magnet won't reach it. If it catches the torque converter at 3,000 rpm, it'll be sent through the casing.
I had the same with a 10mm nut in an Audi 100. Smashed a hole through the transmission.

It's been bouncing about for a while and by the sound of it, there isn't much left of the bit left
