It wouldn’t release this am from the button, but auto released from the throttle.

A while back I had the EPB ECU replaced, after replacing pads and discs. Maybe last summer I replaced the electromechanical part of the near side Galilee after that age itself.

Does anyone have a guess as to what’s going on?

I’ve bought an EPB ECU from our sponsors. The brake pads aren’t old enough to be worn, surely...

This could very well be a now faulty EPB (Handbrake) Switch which forms part of the circuit and would give that fault if it was intermittantly failing, and hopefully if A8 Parts have a second hand one then you could swap it easily and see if it cures it for you.

Audi are notorious for EPB switches failing, our 4 Year old FL D4 just had one fail and it decided to not let me turn off the parking brake which was a problem when I was half way through customer meetings! Fortunately I had VagCom with me and used it to go into the brake module and tell the calipers to retract the brakes, and I then just left the handbrake off until I was home. a new switch from Audi at £50 fixed it and now all is good again

Ooh. The switch did pull up a little too easily the other day. Maybe it is that. I’m in morocco at the minute. Will try and email our sponsors.

Thanks buddy.

Now got a switch winging its way to my house from our fab sponsors.

Will give me something to try when I get back in the country.

Just picked up my EPB ECU and switch from A8parts at the Post Office and..... The thing has only fixed itself (for now). No warning lights. Works fine. Cycled it a few times. What the f....

The battery was low, having not been used much before we went away and upon return even lower. I know this can cause gremlins, but it’s a bit odd.

I swear these cars do it deliberately some times if they don't get enough attention! 😜

Possibly. It’s quite the love/hate relationship!
