Default Drivers door microswitch/central locking issue

Firstly apologies if this is in the wrong section!

But, would a dodgy drivers door microswitch effect the central locking pump

I think the microswitch has an issue - sometimes the interior light works, sometimes not (as well as the courtesy light on the bottom of the door)

So when I'm driving the interior light will flicker on/off (seems to be more when I'm turning corners)

When stationary interior light seems to work ok with all the other doors (but not always with the drivers door)

Would this be the door microswitch? Would this also cause the central locking pump to cycle more than it should??

I hope the switch in the lock is the issue, because hearing the pump operate when I'm driving along is making me crazy! Door seems to click too, which is why I hope thats the culprit

Any thoughts if any of the above made sense!

Thanks

I have a problem with the microswitch in the passenger door where interior light and the door bottom courtesty light sometime stay on but, in my case, the door open icon shows on the DIS. I have to open/shut the door a few times to clear. The lights then function as normal. If it is the drivers door then it is likely to also affect the central locking circuits. Does the door open icon come on with yours?

No door open icon (which is weird) - so I wonder if it is the microswitch - it seems to be similar symptoms! driving me mad. Is this the kind of thing that dealer could pinpoint as the route cause by plugging car in?

There's a VagCom register on this forum - if you find the nearest to you and get in touch, it'll be 'plugged in' for beer money!
