Default Show us your...wheels

On a couple of the other car forums I am on they often have a few ‘show us your’ threads for a bit of inspiration so thought I would give it a go with this.

current:
- newbie to audis, 2001 s8 purchased aug 2018, changes have begun... centre box delete and straight through pipes.

- e9 csl 1972, fully restored, silly bits to finish

- 2002tii 1972, 'bought by accident' and work in progress

- toyota hiace camper, just repainted in gulf racing colours and now getting used

- honda c90 custom cub, ' bought by accident'....there seems to be a them here..!

(Not so) Recently departed:

- very sadly sold to fund the e9....BMW e28 m535 white 1986, owned 12 years, I loved that car.
- red mk1 vw golf gti, fully sorted: resprayed, flash red, mk2 1800 16v conversion, uprated brakes, shocks, leather interior,
- 1986 Saab 900 turbo convertible sold to get Audi on 'one out, one in' rule imposed by missus...not really adhering to the rule at the moment as can be seen..!

You'll find that quite a lot of members here either have the 'Final Edition' 9-spoke alloys or the Avus ones. I'm also in that group, but do have one decent photo of the S8 on a different set of alloys:

1996 4.2 A8SQ - Ming Blue. 178k on a cambelt! Trader's 8. Delivered to A8Parts at Lifex.
2003 2.8 A8SQ - powder blueish. Fill in for a while. Sold on.
1998 1.8T A4 Avant FWD. Ming Blue (there's a theme here), PEX for the 97 S8.
And a list of non VAG going back 40 years before I saw the light.

I like those wheels

Assuming you’re current tyres are 245/45/18 you have a few options but it depends on if you mind a bit of mild stretch.

Personally I’d think about going for a 255/40/19. I,ve got 255/35/20 on 9.5’s and there is a subtle stretch.

The calculator indicates your new wheels will sit 13mm closer to the struts....probably ok but worth checking you don’t need a spacer. MJ might know if there’s tonnes of clearance on these or not.
