Interesting. I wonder if the camber is out. The previous owner didn't seem like the hooligan type, and whilst the inner edges must have been good at the time of the MOT it seems the last ~5k has finished them off. Can't recall what brand they were. I've seen a few Audis chew edges. Notably my last RS6. I went to swap the tyres off for a different brand, keeping the existing ones as spares, and turned out the two front ones were toast.... The tracking was subsequently done as part of an accident repair so I never specifically got feedback on how much it was out.

I spotted it before I left and returned to show them. I think they owe me a new tyre too.

Oh man. I feel for you. That sucks. I bet it looks pretty good running on 20's. Hopefully they accept liability without too much grief ?

The tyres that came off were Hankook Ventus evo2. The fronts were the ones down to the threads.

The car is a 2010 D3 3.0 LWB. The new ones are Uniroyal Rainsport 3, they have been great on my Surf and on the Mrs' A4. I'll see how they wear on the big 'un.

Got a set on my S8 now and have been impressed so far. Noise isn't noticeable, dry performance is good enough and wet performance is of course excellent. Picked up an irrepairable puncture not too long ago so had to buy another new tyre but the others were only a couple of months old so no more than 1 or 2mm tread depth difference.

£140-£150 per tyre is good enough though.
