Default Sunroof stuck Tilt mode......

Driving home in the sun with tilted up, due to the nice weather i figured i'd open it all the way.. Nope, wouldn't open.. Just tilt's downwards about 1 cm and goes back to max tilt mode..

Tried ignotion off and on but no help. No help with the comfort-locking either..

Any ideas?

Not good... but I'm pretty sure you can pop the cover off and close it manually with an allen key

Isn't there a special tool hidden in the roof somewhere to close the sunroof.

Default Sunroof motor

Sounds like either the sunroof mechanism is really stiff and the sunroof motor has stopped working properly.....the sunroof motor covers just pop off with careful levering and then there are 3 screws to drop the motor....leave the motor connected to power and check it still turns....or if it has broken.....

But before doing that check to see if any fuses have blown....where the spindle from the sunroof motor sits ....you might be able to turn the mechanism to close the sunroof with a large flat blade perhaps....and I would try to get some wd40 on the mechanism

Thanks for all the replies

I did close it manually with the tool hidden in the fusebox cover, Its very smooth and opens easily in all ditections when done manually...
When ignition on it moves apx 1 cm back and forth before it stops, this happens if it is on tilt, half open, fully open...

Is there anyway to calibrate/reset the sensors like on the windows?

No idea what this is, hope you get it sorted soon.

Could you post a photo of the tool and its location?

It could be the pinch protection playing up maybe.

Jim do you not have a owners book? The tool looks like this

And on a PF it's stowed inside the cover for the sunroof, int light lens off, 2 off phillips screws out and down comes the cover with a pull.
