Default New Infinity Exhaust

Hi All

Have not visited in a while since my last S8 was written off by a careless mini driver, but now have another 2000 FL Audi S8 40v with a new Infinity Stainless Exhaust fitted and 20" Mandrus wheels.
When driving it sounds a bit like a Merc c63.

here is a youtube link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tf3ifZ2gc5s

Regards

That does sound good. How is the exhaust configured? With or without middle box/s or cats? H-pipe, X-pipe, true dual?

Sounds perfect!
Just looking for reviews they are getting lots of recommendations. Looks like I'll be going to Infinity too.
Please let us know your setup

Hi Mugzee

The dual pipes are both real and theres no middle box just a box behind each tail pipe, its also stainless steel which cost £350 inc vat.

Its such good value that I am taking my M3 CSL there for a new exhaust

I concur, this does sound nice. Since changing from my Lexus Soarer to the A8, it is the main thing I miss. I used to have an Exhausts by Design stainless system and it sounded sweet.

It would be good to know the actual spec as that rasp does sound nice.

It does sound like good value. Are the cats still in place then? Is there any communication between the 2 pipes i.e X-pipe or H-pipe?

I ordered a cat back system from MOHR in Germany and am regretting it now as they sent me something different to what I originally ordered and it doesn't fit properly which is really annoying and now they won't get back to me.

Do you find yours resonates inside the car at all, especially around 1500-2000 rpm? Mine is awful for that so am in the process of trying different configurations to reduce it as much as possible.

As for my T5, I was thinking about getting a 180 bi-turbo as they're rear wheel drive, but I'm not really a fan of the cam-belt driven 4cyl. Mines been re-mapped but I carry around a fair bit of weight most of the time so it's now on it's 3rd off side drive shaft and stub shaft, which as you probably know is a common problem (terribly designed!!).
How do you find yours? I should imagine it's far more refined than the old 5cyl.
