We are constantly on the lookout for this sort of scam, I have had people purposely slam their brakes on in front of me before to try and get a claim - thankfully I am quick on my brakes... phew

However, before I got my '8, I was in north london leaving an ex's place for home, and thought I would stop at brent cross starbucks for a drink for my journey home, whilst waiting for someone to leave a parking space I would fill, I was pulled up (with my footbrake on & hazard lights going) all of a sudden, I heard a horn, then BANG.... Some guy (black-not sure if that is politically correct or not??) pulled out of a parking space behind me and either wasnt looking or purposely drove into the back of my car ???? Random I thought until he got out and started shouting at the top of his lungs that I had reversed into him... WTF!!!

This made me mad!

I parked my car in the now unoccupied space immediately, went over to the idiot, and inspected the damage to his car (there was none apparent on mine...not even a scuff) an his wing was dented, front bumper cracked, scratched and mangled and n/s headlight crooked. I just looked at it and thought "holy ****-fiesta's must be made of chocolate"
I told the guy under no uncertain terms that he wouldnt be getting a penny off me if he thinks he can scam ME he can think again, but bring it on basically.

Under close inspection of the damage to his car, I noticed it was already held on with cable ties and the cracks in the bumper had already had an attempt to be "plastic welded" together. So this was OLD damage!!!

Another point to add was that he already knew, without calling anyone, exactly how much the wing and bumper were??? Either he's a walking ford parts price catalogue of somethings going on here.

I basically told him to get ****ed... he will be hearing from my solicitor and he will regret ****ing me off & after pointing out that his damage was already there he took off.

Good job I know my cars-most other women wouldn't have had a clue!

I did hear from his insurance, I explained over the phone what happened, and said that if they bother me again I will take them to court straight out, and ordered them to get hold of cctv (it's a shopping centre car park so it must have had cctv)

either way I heard nothing back except a "poison pen" letter from the idiot who hit me saying something like - I know where you live, I will get you, and will ****ing kill you blah de blah de blah.
Took that straight down to the police with his details and never heard a thing except a letter from his insurance apologising.

I am lucky that I knew the signs and didnt take any **** with his "acting". Quite intimidating though, I was only about 21 at the time.
