Poor Guy, it's worth pointing out in the video that it isn't just a BMW estate but infact a 335D, a standard one too. Guy's lucky it wasn't mapped or the new triple turbo 3.0 D BMW are bringing out with four wheel drive!

Mate of mine just got the M-sport version of that, can't recall exactly what it's called, but it ****es all over my S8 (well, just), mainly because it's smaller and lighter!

my power was way down but as you say if they p**s all over an S8 any way then i was not really up against a fair fight, not as we were at GTI international and as far as im aware BMW are not part of the Audi group and as mike mentioned it was all the more embarrassing that they let it down the strip, was the only beemer i seen there all day and in my opinion did not belong there, Amar did not have the audacity to bring his BMW powered by the fuel of satin so why on earth that one Guy was allowed i have no idea

Someone was wearing a bloody BMW cap that day too, we did get our own back on the 335D though when the MRC tuned Q7 6.0 V12 TDI taught the BMW 335D a lesson. Your right. I had a 335 D and it was quicker then the D2 S8, me and RanjA8 dragged them on the way back from A8 Parts and the 335D beat my S8. Tell you what though, I'm looking forward to GTI international 2012 and going down the strip in the RS6, I want to get a late 12 sec quarter mile and a 0-60 of 4.1 seconds at least.

Safety: Install the switch so that the pump turns off when the trunk lid is closed. Otherwise the pressure will destroy the dampers. 2. Safety: - Motor overload switch (I'm working on one, but it is not easy ...for me) - Hydraulic pressure switch (I'm working on one, but it is not easy ... for me) 3. Safety - Connect the entire system to the rear parking sensors so that if something is obstructing, the trunk won't open. When closing everything runs off the timing relay, but the pump stops as soon as the locks engage and then the closing device pulls the trunk lid completely shut. It also works without the closing device, but the trunk dampers won't be able to completely close the trunk (due to their mounting angle) (this was my first attempt ... video 1) As for the costs, it depends on how/where you obtain the Mini Cooper hydraulic control unit. Other hydraulic units will work, for instance VW Eos or ford. My unit cost me 50 Euros. Also: - The Audi a8 4e closing units from an auction site is about 20 € - The Audi a8 4e tailgate pushbutton (outside) is about 20 € - 2 timing relays is about 19 € - Power supply relay is about 4 € (I had some laying around....) - Relays and small things like screws, etc. - For those not experienced with electrical stuff, a fire extinguisher is about 20 € It is a little bit of work. My colleagues always laugh when I start a project, but I have fun and if something works then it is really gratifying. By the way, connect the push button on the license plate frame to the central locking system! Because the car boot is not supposed to open when the vehicle is locked. I hope this has been helpful. For me this mod is too intrusive, with too many custom made things, so I decided to stay stock. I admire your courage. Please post pictures at different stages.

Working on this some more, could anyone with some D3 experience give some thoughts or info on the mechanism in that car? I can't seem to find info anywhere. I'd like a more OEM appearing solution to be sure.
